lipstickjunkie
My doctor has increased my Wellbutrin from 150mg once a day to twice a day. I was reading online that Wellbutrin can cause insomnia and you also have to space the doses about 8 hours apart. Ok, so my questions are has anyone had insomnia from Wellbutrin and is there a time a should take the second dose by? The pharmacist I talked with said 6PM but with my bad sleeping patterns, that seems a little late (for me). Thanks
water
I would recommend one 300xl (extended release) pill in the morning. When I took the 150 sr (sustained release) in the morning and one 150 sr in the late afternoon it affected my sleep. The 300XL in the morning, after a month or two of adjustment was perfect. y58
Originally both my pdocs had me take the 2nd dose in the evening. But because of insomnia, my current doc has me take the 2nd dose at noon, and I have been having an easier time falling asleep ETA: Pdoc also had me try the XL but then he suspected that my body wasn't metabolizing that formulation properly
notfred
You might try Alplenzin, it is another brand name for Wellbutrin that would be a different time release formulation. nf
saveyoursanity
I take both tablets of my wellbutrin SR in the morning, one when I wake up and one by noon. (Or both at noon if I don't wake up until then, heh.) That way they don't interfere with sleep. There's no real "crash" like I get with Adderall so it seems fairly safe. Anna
I was also told by pdoc that waiting 5 hrs or so was perfectly fine, so provided you wake up early enough, this may not be a problem. Anna
