rowan77
I had no problem coming off Zyprexa. About a year ago I was changing from Zyprexa to Abilify due to weight gain. I gradually went down from 20mg to nothing over a period of about 1 month. When I got down to 5mg I started Abilify 10mg and eventually went up to Abilify 30mg. This transition caused no problems for me thankfully. However I did get Akathisia on the high dose of Abilify. However the withdrawal from Zyprexa was fine. Anna
Zyprexa is usually an AAP I take "prn" only, so I've usually not had problems stopping it. It used to be my primary AAP and I cross tapered to seroquel without problems, but I'm not sure that counts, as I was cross tapering, not stopping it. Some AAPs I have a really hard time coming off, like seroquel. It all depends. Anna
3Degree
I've come off Zyprexa several times and the worst thing for me has always been not sleeping for several days to a week (or at least broken sleep) after discontinuation.
cfranco92
I cross tapered Zyprexa with Navane so I didn't feel any withdrawal effects. The only thing I noticed was I still had a ravenous hunger from 30mg to 2.5mg.
