anon34
I dont know what it is but the last few days I have been so edgy. The doc has replaced Zoloft with Pristiq, which I've been on for about a month. I'm recently getting off of Hydroxz Pam, so I'm wondering if that's what's causing my brain zaps and crankiness. I'm just starting on seroquel and am 2 weeks into the remeron. I'm starting to taper from 3 a day to 2, 0.5mgs of Ativan daily. Anyone got some ideas of what it could be? I hate feeling like this. Thanks.
jt07
Wow, you are really shaking up your meds. You are going off two meds and going on two others. I don't know. The Hydroxz Pam is an antihistamine so I'm not sure if that could be causing your problems. I suffered some irritability when I came off a benzo so it could be the Ativan. Whatever it is, it will get better as your body adjusts to the med changes. Go easy on yourself.
anon34
Thanks, yeah im in the process of tapering the ativan with taking the seroquel in between doses, so that could be the case. The other two Meds are just kinda fillers that I take every day, I'm having a super hard time adjusting to only two ativan a day...sigh.
SashaSue
It could also be the pristique, or the remeron, or the combination of the two. If that's the case, it's only likely to get worse with time. You should really call your pdoc and describe what's going on, just to be sure. I don't think it would be those two, since what I'm experiencing is more of a withdrawal.
Cetkat
How long since you last took the Zoloft? Did you just switch over a month ago, or was there a taper that went past that?

Cetkat
How long since you last took the Zoloft? Did you just switch over a month ago, or was there a taper that went past that? Yeah over a month ago... Alright, I figured I'd double check. I had brain zaps from Zoloft withdrawal, but starting up randomly after a month doesn't make sense. Have you recently stopped taking any other medication that you didn't mention? Like an antibiotic? Other than something like that messing with your Pristiq level.. I have no idea what could be causing the zaps.

I'm thinking it may be the Hydroxz Pam, I went off of that about a week and a half ago, was used as a booster for the ativan but now I'm on seroquel to help. I'm tapering to only two Ativan a day which has been really difficult also

The extreme irritability sounds like it could be a hypomanic kind of a thing, elicited by the ad's. Whatever exactly it is - and, with all the med changes you have happening, it might be more than one thing - you need to call your pdoc, and see what he'd reccomend.
