Evenstar
Okay, I don't want to panic or cause panic to my family and friends, or pay unnecessary hosp bills so I'm gonna try this board first. I noticed some really itchy bumps on my arms which started with what looked like mosquito bites. Some on my upper legs, s, maller. Some on the sides of stomach. Here's the thing.. I just started lamictal a week ago and my room has mosquitoes and I was too lazy to do anything about it. So I don't want to panic on what could be insect bites. So I just want to know how a Lamictal rash would feel like. How itchy should it be? How does it start? How to tell if it's serious? On the side note, I have some muscle pain on the right arm which has the big bumps.

muriel
SJS/TEN (aka The Rash) is generally accompanied by flu-like symptoms and spreads very quicky. Lamictal and other ACs cause a lot of rashes, so getting a rash while titrating Lamictal isn't uncommon or dangerous. With that said, it's worth a call to your pdoc, and if you have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, or the rash is spreading quickly, it may be worth a trip to the ER. It's really hard to say. Bug bites and rashes don't really look or feel the same to me, but everyone is different. Also, if the bumps are on places that are usually covered with clothing, it's probably not mosquitos, but that's hard to say 100%. Anyway, I'd make some calls. Better safe than sorry with this kind of thing.
Gearhead
I've also found that since I started taking lamotrigine, when I do get a mosquito bite (or a zit, or a small cut, or any such minor skin affliction) that it's much slower to heal, and itches more and gets more red and swollen. Joy!
