sonicwhite
I'm not quite sure whats he going to say all I know is that I need to get my anxiety under control cos I'm going nuts. Klonopin was working so well for me then just poof it stopped. I'm trying to see if he'll give me a chance maybe with the xr but I really need to get a grip on this anxiety. breezy
It makes me drowsy but I like it a lot more than Ativan which didn't really do much for me. Good luck!
Indigo 'n dye
Therapy works wonders for anxiety. You once said that therapy reduced your anxiety by 50%. With that kind of result I am more than surprised you have not gone back for mat least a refresher course. THERAPY, THERAPY, AND THEN MORE THERAPY. chimpmaster
How is the valium working for you, Sonic white?
hallowedink
I'm with Indigo - therapy is really the way to go. However, there has been some evidence of SSRIs helping with anxiety, and many of them can be taken in conjunction with the meds you're on. I would think that that would be a more long term solution than benzos, and might help you feel less anxious and interface better with therapy? Just a thought. Anna
Yes, benzos sadly do have a tolerance problem for some people which is why other options are considered when possible. Sometimes switching between benzos can help with this, at other times it does not. Be careful with xanex though.... eh, it's a pretty potent deal. I REFUSE to increase my benzos despite the fact that I am now at tolerance levels and they're pretty much, uh, well, I don't know what they're doing, but I want to get rid of them. Doing DBT at the moment. Anna
mrzarf
I asked for a benzo because the anxiety was making me just sick. Plus the heart slaming instead of beating etc.
hallowedink
I asked for a benzo because the anxiety was making me just sick. Plus the heart slaming instead of beating etc. Propranolol or other beta-blockers could help with that.
crtclms
I use Xanax, and it has been so helpful, my life is so much better. By the time I was prescribed it, I was in a constant state of hyper-arousal. Maybe it was a minor flare up of my PTSD, because the final straw was the first time I saw DH go into Status. Anyway, I can't take SSRIs, and I have done CBT, but I am just a very anxious, the older I get, the worse it gets. However, I have been on the same dose for 5 and a half years, combined with mindfulness and CBT. Sometimes benzos are the best option.
