Jenni
So I've been titrating up on Topamax.... 50 mg, no problems. The world is a happy place, all is well. Not too many migraines. I think it's helping there. My mood is great. Up to 75 mg.... Everything is dandy. Life is good. Went up to 100 mg last week, and now everything sucks. The side effects are back, so I'm waiting those out. I'm tired from it. Running a low grade fever (I did that when I first started it, too - don't know why). Feel like I'm catching the flu. Feel like warmed over dog shit. Mood is not so good (been very depressed). Now I guess I should call the doctor and see if I should go back down to 75 or 50 mg. Blah. Is the fever thing unusual? Anyone else do that? I don't know why it does that to me.

tallulah
i never experienced the fever as a side effect, but got stuck dealing with HORRID GI problems that subsided after about a month. just remember, it IS flu season. i dont even know how many people have been off sick in my office this past month. but as lisa and breeze have both mentioned, get in and see your doc. crazynotstupid
I had flu-like symptoms on and off when titratinf on Topamax. I gad GI issues. Things change as doses change. (Of course, that was during flu season too...) But yeah, call your doc. However, don't knee-jerk and run back to the lower dose, unless the lower dose was truly helping. If the pdoc agrees that is the case, and that a higher dose isn't necessary at this point, stay at the lower dose. After all, why take more than needed? (unless it's beer or chocolate...) Note also that all ACs may cause depression. It sucks, but it can happen.
one4leeza
Just started Topamax...love it that J calls it Dopamax... I am a puker... aka ED. Been so since I was 17.. f-ing pitiful. Also drink 8 or more beers a day. Functional alchoholic. Work full time, grad school, coach soccer... look like super mom on the outside and am like a f-ing rotten pumpkin on the inside. T-max is my last shot. Been on Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Effexor, Xanax, Elavil, Prozac among others... nothing has worked. Wish me luck.

one4leeza
thanks for the website, I will check it out. Hope this topamax works. I smoke too and it seems to make me forget to smoke. I hope it makes me forget to eat and forget to drink too. I need a miracle or I am headed to an early grave. 41 is too young to kick the bucket.
