breezy
I understand insomnia is a side effect of some of my meds, and I've had insomnia issues in the past when I was unmedicated, but come on. How long will this last? Anyone experience the same side effect? I can't stand it anymore. Falling asleep and waking up at 2am unable to fall back asleep again every. single. night. hallowedink
Here is a list I made of the potential causes for insomnia. It's not a very long list, and some of them are easy to cross off. I can understand the struggle. Prozac, initially, made me completely unable to sleep. I went about four days without more than two hours sleep in total. Insomnia as a side effect of meds is pretty horrible. Anyway, I hope there's something on the list that can help you, and there are things on there that you could discuss with your doctor in order to make a plan of action. Good luck, N
breezy
That list is just so wonderful. It really helps. I'm also going to call my pdoc today and demand sleeping pills.
hallowedink
As you can see, I'm slowly narrowing it down for myself. Snagged on the fact that I can't get a referral for a sleep study through the NHS quickly, and can't have a private one done until my Mum is back in the country to pay for it, and my doctor refers me privately (not happening ). Do stress to your Pdoc exactly how much distress your insomnia is causing you. That was the way I got my doctor to take me seriously - I told him in graphic detail exactly how crap I felt all the time because I wasn't sleeping. Unfortunately, I've exhausted the sleeping tablets he will prescribe, so I think I'm going to ahve to make that point again. Anyway, if your Pdoc knows how distressing it is for you and how much it's affecting your mood then that ought to pursuade him/her to prescribe something to help you out. Good luck! Thomas
My wife is taking my back-up restoril (tomazapam) because she has trouble sleeping. But she is afraid to ask her GP for an Rx. She also has a heart condition so I worry that it might cause her harm.
breezy
I just got a call back from my pdoc's nurse and I will be starting trazadone as of tonight. Fingers crossed.
