StarKid13
I take Trazodone and Luvox and was wondering if I could take Dayquil/Nyquil with those, specifically Nyquil. I had a bad cold recently and was wondering if because the Trazodone made me tired if the Nyquil would do something bad as it makes you tired also. Thanks! hallowedink
There are med interaction checkers online. Otherwise, you could also ask your pharmacist; they usually know to warn for med-interactions.
Dani
I do it. It just makes me incredibly hungover feeling the next day.
dedoubt
I agree with calling pdoc/pharmacist. If you look at my med list, you will see I am on plenty (not the same as yours, though, so don't take my word for it), and the pharmacist told me it was OK to take Nyquil. I took it for three nights, but on the third night, I kept waking up panicking, thinking I wasn't breathing. That made me worried that my breathing was getting too depressed (slow) by all of the various meds, so I'm not taking it now. I hope you feel better. I'm glad to see you here and posting. breezy
I am not allowed to take it or other cough suppressants, but yeah, follow the advice of these good people ^^
SugarBooger
I took Dayquil yesterday and had some VERY strange experiences. I laid down on the couch and was having partial dreams where I would wake up and start talking about random things. It was bizarre. I'm not taking it again. Cattitude
Nyquil contains alcohol (but they have an alcohol-free formulation). The alcohol could interact with your meds. Dayquil - AFAIK no alcohol but other stuff that could interact. Like the other people here, I'd suggest you double-check with your pdoc and/or pharmacist, as it can depend on dosages for both meds. Gearhead
Here is a very good drug interaction checker: http://www.drugs.com...teractions.php/ If I'm miserable enough, I do take NyQuil, because not being able to sleep screws me up worse than being a little overdoped for a couple of nights. However, I'm afraid to take it for more than a couple nights, just in case of some weird interaction. And I cannot take DayQuil at all. Totally makes me nuts, with pounding heart and the shakes and anxiety and even racing thoughts. Edit for typo
