Panic attacks made a come back after 12 years. They're coming fast and furious, can barely drive around the block and I've got kids to take care of. Psych. has me on Klonopin .25mg four times a day and Nuvigil 125mg because 250mg sent my BP soaring. But my body shakes like a leaf, my heart jumps in my chest all day and I am having a harder and harder time leaving the house and I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel.

mamma, welcome to Crazyboards. I'm sorry that you are having such a hard time with panic attacks and that the meds don't seem to be helping. If you post about this in our anxiety sub-forum, I bet other members with similar conditions will respond to you.

Be sure to read the user agreement when you have time, and contact a staff person if you don't understand something.

Welcome to the boards. I hope you can get your anxiety down some. I have suffered from anxiety for years that has kept me from doing a lot of things at certain times. Therapy and meds have helped me tremendously. I hope that you can find the same kind of relief somehow. But yeah, olga's right, check out the anxiety board!

The Nuvigil may be worsening the anxiety. Also, you're on a really low dose of Klonopin, with room to move up.

If you are developing agorophobia, now is the time to get aggressive with meds. I've had issues with agoraphobia for almost 2 years now and it's very hard to come back from once it's set in. Therapy can really help too, sometimes better than meds.

Otherwise, welcome to the boards.

Yes, you have a lot of room to go up on the klonopin shoud it become necessary. I took 1 mg three times per day for over 3 years.

I would gladly go up on the Klonopin if my pdoc agrees, just how do I stay awake when I'm not in panic mode. Nuvigil is clearly out as it made it worse.

Thanks to all the responses, feeling a bit less frantic now.

Anxiety isn't my formost symptom but it was a constant for a few years. The med that has helped this mostly go away for me is Buspar. Though the first dr who prescribed it told me it was an as needed med, I read up on it and it's one you have to take consistantly to have it built up. It's different from other anti-anxiety meds, it doesn't make me tired or drugged feeling. My anxiety is for the most part gone. I take 10mg three times a day....

Don't know why my letters came out so small up there...
