Hi Guys I'm going to be getting off my invega because a walk in clinic doctor who read my blood test results said I have high liver enzymes and need to get off all my psych meds. I did it sucessfully before but one time i woke up in the morning with what looked like a deep cat scratch mark on my face so I went back on them because i figured invega was protecting me from an evil spirit or something. silly right?

Anyway whats the best way to get through invega withdrawal? Typically, how long do the withdrawal symptoms last? I get heavy anxiety from invega withdrawal so thats my main concern. and also getting another scratch on my face or worse if something paranormal is happening (which is doubtfull but you never know. Try not to focus on that too much though in your responces).

My invega dose is 3 mg and i've been on it for a couple years. Its also known as paliperidone XR, i think the XR stands for extended release because it lasts a long ass time.

I also need to get off the invega because its making me grow boobs and gain copious amounts of weight and i don't like that. I have benzos so I can use them to help me ween off. right now i'm on

clonazepam 1.5mg 3 times daily.

lorazepam up to 2 mg daily as needed.

and of course the 3mg invega which i am looking to eliminate.

I'll be getting off the benzos too but I won't be stopping those cold turkey like I am the invega because i could seize.

also no my pdoc isn't supervising my invega withdrawal. I called his office last wednsday and its now thursday and I haven't gotten a responce so I'm saying fuck the p-doc, i'm taking my health into my own hands and doing this myself.

Basically the high liver enzymes scare me so i need to get off the invega as the general doctor said. Help.

Take the results to a pdoc rather than listening to a walk in clinic doctor. If you can't get ahold of the pdoc, go to your GP because they know you better than the clinic doctor.

I'm not a pdoc so I'm not going to tell you how to stop taking any meds. What I am going to tell you is to do what you can to find another pdoc if you can't get hold of your current doc. I certainly wouldn't take the advice of a GP who you don't know very well to go off of all your meds. How familiar is he with your MI and what will happen if you go off your meds? Has your pdoc ever given you a diagnosis?

I don't know how serious the liver enzymes problem would be for you. You may want to go to an ER if you can't get in touch with a pdoc in a few days. They should be able to hook you up with the on call pdoc.

Talk to your pdoc about this - keep calling the office until you get a response. Doctors can get caught up with other patients sometimes, or messages can get lost. At the very least, talk to a doctor who knows your medical and symptom history.

Hi

Hope you are doing okay and you got a second opinion from a pdoc. I went off my meds before on my own and got very sick. I don't think it's a good idea to go off them on your own. Perhaps there is something else they can put you on which will work better and not affect your liver function. If you haven't managed to get in touch with the pdoc, please keep calling, "make" them pay attention to you.

lol funny. I kept calling and got in shit for "calling excessively" meanwhile they weren't responding to me. Fucking secretarys. they can go to hell.

anyway i got in touch with my pdoc and he got me off the invega and put me on gabapentin. a good exchange seemingly so far.

Edit: Its also worth noting that the withdraw from the invega was barely noticable this time. Its a miracle but i didn't have any insomnia. my ocd and anxiety were up but thats to be expected. i'm now like a week and a half without the invega and on my new med.

I hate anti psychotic drugs they always give me bad side effects and this is the worst I felt yet for a long time on the invega sustenna, there probibily is a lot of people who go off there invega because the side effects are intolerable, one thing I notice about nurses and psychatrists they do not give a shit how you act if your not a patient or they argue with you when you try describe you your feeling, so they argue with you when your describing how you feel and they are telling you your nuts when you want their help, it is a no win situation, then you get the patients who are to overly medicated to give you their opinion, and you have to be realistic about the whole thing some doctors are young and dumb and could not diagnosis you if their life depended on it for the right thing, they spend 10 minutes with you and they think they know you, how the fuck can some one know what a persons illness is in 10 mintues, then they put you on THE WRONG mind  altering drugs then go fuck the nurse, As for as I am concerned they know so many people drink and drive and get away with it with out killing some one or them selves so they allow people on wrong medication for the same reason, they most likely will not get caught.
