Beetzart
Over the years I have seen several pdocs and most of them have been, well horrible. They would talk down to me, tell me off for being suicidal etc yet today I saw a wonderful doctor who spent a lot of time going over my situation. There was also a nurse present, for what reason I don't know. He is really shaking up my pill regimen. Increasing venlafaxine to 150 mg, tapering me off olanzapine as I don't really need it apart from sleep plus thinking about getting me off lithium. I will see him in two months to see how my sleep/mood is and if need be he will add mirtazapine to the mix as he said that combines very well with venlafaxine. The buspar he was keeping the same even though he says it works for anxiety yet can cause depression, not that I have ever read that. Overall I am very pleased, especailly to be coming of olanzapine, I might actually lose some weight now.

Beetzart
Thank you It made a nice change to see a decent doctor. Has anyone been on a venlafaxine/mirtazpine combo?
rowan77
I've been on both venlafaxine and mirtazapine, but not together. Both worked really well for my depression but the venlafaxine made me manic at high doses, which I neeed to be on for my depression and the mirtazapine caused major weight gain so I had to quit them both for those reasons. I've read that combining them both is really good for persistent depression Here's the link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17329295
y58
Has anyone been on a venlafaxine/mirtazpine combo? I'm on them, and WB and geodon also. Works for my depression symptoms, except for anhedonia, anergia, and occasional insomnia.
