treklexa
I'm really new to antidepressants and Zoloft is the only thing I've been on. Well, long story short, I have been chronically sleep deprived and decided to take the time to catch up a little bit. I set an alarm so I could wake up and take my meds but I slept through it. I woke up about 8 hours later than I usually take it and I had/still have a severe headache. I've never really had a headache before so this blows... Is it possibly related to Zoloft? And are there any other problems associated with missing or taking a dose later than usual (specifically SSRIs)? I know you guys aren't doctors but I figure you have more experience than I do... DamselODistress
All I can say is that when I miss a dose of any of my meds, I either get headaches, nauseous, vertigo, or any combination of the three. It fades after I've taken the forgotten dose, though.
hallowedink
It depends on the meds and on the people. I've never had trouble taking doses late (that's with the seroquel and wellbutrin, but also with my past meds). I'm not sure what would happen if I took a lamictal dose late, because I've started religiously taking them at the same time since I went on it. I've not tried zoloft (was meant to, but then I became psychotically depressed instead of just depressed, so I was put on seroquel instead). It may be that you're quite sensitive to missing doses, I think that works differently with different people. Also, it will depend on the half life of zoloft. It's about 26 hours, I think, so it shouldn't make a difference based on that. Also, like Damsel said, if it's a side effect of not taking the dose on time then it ought to fade when you take the dose.

If I was even 5 minutes late with lamictal, I thought I was going to die. I forgot to mention that I also have an alarm on my phone for my meds, and nothing else gets the ringtone that I use for the alarm(Girl Anachronism by the Dresden Dolls ). I picked something energetic and loud, that would be hard to ignore even if I'm asleep, though if I'm finally sleeping after being awake for four days? My sister has to come find me because I turn the alarm off in my sleep. I let her know before hand that I'm going to sleep, so she knows to check on me. Her meds are at the same time, so it's easy for her to remember.
treklexa
Ohh ok. See, I've been late with Lamictal and even missed doses and have been ok. It doesn't happen very often, and I hate it when it does. My sleep schedule is so fucked. I was just wondering about Zoloft because this headache is crazy! And I know I've never experienced this with Lamictal or Topamax. In general I usually take my meds at the exact same time, but I can do it an hour earlier or later and it will still be ok. Sometimes I don't have a choice. When it comes time to take my morning meds I will sometimes be with a patient or something so I'll take it a few hours early. It's never caused me problems. Well, now I know for sure not to be super late with Zoloft! beh
