Medications That Affect Memory

My therapist noted to me that my memory seems poor. He suggested that I talk to my doctor and nurse about it. I'll do that as soon as I see them. In the mean time, does anyone know what medications I take (listed in my signature) that could impair my memory?

Vistiril seems like a possibility, but I don't know.

You are on a lot and there is a possibility that one may be causing the memory issues. But I think it might also be the MI. I think thats the reason in my case. With exception of an inability to word-find with Lamictal...Ive had a lot of memory issues. I chalk it up to my brain needing to make space to heal.

My experience is that side effects increase over time and number of meds taken. It can be difficult to pinpoint which med causes a side effect. I have short term memory issues, difficulty finding words, and tremors all over my body. All of these things started and/or gradually increased as meds were added, dosages increased etc.

In terms of your meds, Neurontin is a strong candidate for your memory problems. But it could also be an outgrowth of Schizophrenia. Cognitive declines are a feature of the condition.
