kitthekitten128
Ive been on 112.5 mg for 6 weeks and am starting to taper down. I am taking two now (this is my second day with only two). I am terrified about the withdrawal. My doctor said to taper by a pill every three or four days, so that is what I am doing. Is that too quick? I feel a little nauseous, my head feels (fuzzy/foggy). Could this be the withdrawal? Im starting Prozac once I fully stop the Effexor. Not sure what to do and worried this will get worse.
notfred
Why not start Prozac a little early to ease things a bit ? nf
hallowedink
If you're worried about withdrawing too quickly, then speak to your doctor. After all, if you have negative effects then you could always taper slower.
Dani
What i did, was to take out one bead every day. Day two would be you take 2 beads out, day three 3 beads out etc etc. My body didnt even notice it. And I am a very sensitive person with medicine. GL!! kitthekitten128
Well, new development: I am down to one Effexor, only thing I notice is this crazy ravenous hunger. I am always hungry ): odd.
Sixstringkate
Well, luckily, it's almost Thanksgiving!! Really though, glad to hear it's going ok. I was terrified to get off it. About half-way through, I got the worst cold EVER - turned into a sinus infection and everything. Really, I didn't notice the withdrawal over it at all. lilymu
Sounds like you are having very few withdrawl symptoms. Most people cannot get wean themselves from Effexor that quickly.
Just Another Random Person
The drug companies have been creating "discontinuation kits" called "10 by 10's" in which you decrease your dose by 10 percent for 10 weeks. This eliminates the need to start opening capsules and removing some of the meds. That's also what I did. I removed some of the beads, a little at a time, slowing down if I got the head zaps.
