spaceman
Is weight gain on abilify less common at lower dosages such as 5mg? Does that dosage make it hard to lose weight also? Anyone have any experience with this? Is 5mg considered a low dosage? Thanx Brian
kitthekitten128
I've been on 4 mg and had weight gain. I am now down to 2 mg and still trying to lose the weight. Abilify was not the greatest for me, made me of course gain weight and very tired. I would monitor it!Also, I don't for sure no if that is a low dosage, maybe in the middle. Again the above is just my experience.

The Emperor
I actually gained a pound for every milligram of Abilify I take.
Guest Vapourware
Considering the recommended max is 30mg, 5mg would be considered a small dose. I had some weight gain from Abilify - I started off on 15mg for a few weeks, then went to 7.5mg for a while. I found the weight was mainly fluid retention - I was told by several people that I looked a bit "swollen" in appearance.
saveyoursanity
I haven't gained any weight from the abilify that I can tell. Might have made it harder to lose weight.
crab76
I have gained 10 lbs on Abilify 2mg in the last 4mo. If I get strict on a diet I can lose but it's very difficult to stay on a diet because I'm starving all the time and crave carbs/sweets.
