Yes, I've experienced that. I go through periods of absolute obsession, then periods of complete avoidance. Currently in the avoidance phase, which I know is much healthier for me.

Well done on deleting your account. That's a positive step to reduce your obsession. I hope it works for you.

Do regulate. Set yourself a limit - you'll spend no longer than X amount of time on Facebook a day, and that time will be broken up into periods of no longer than Y minutes. Something like that. That way you won't get too caught up in it.

At least, that's what I used to do. It might be helpful.
