SerraGeorge
Well, to start, I don't know if this issue has anything at all to do with my meds. It might or it might not... who the hell can even tell anymore? I have been having a problem with twitching. By far, it is usually the middle toe of my right foot.. though I have had a few twitches in other places here and there. My toe is driving me crazier though! It twitches all day and night long. I can watch it moving, and it kind of freaks me out.. it's just that one toe moving all by itself. Go ahead.. try to wiggle just one toe and see how well you do at it! I have been trying to nail down an event to tie this to, and all I can come up with is: 1) I used to take Gabitril. It was a low dose.. only 8 mg per day I think. Anyway, I had to discontinue use when my insurance stopped covering it for anxiety. There was no tapering or anything.. I just stopped it. That happened way before the twitchiness though... at least I think. Could the sudden discontinuation contribute to my toe taking on a love for dancing? I'm pretty sure I stopped the Gabitril about a month before the twitching got to where I really noticed it. 2) I had a bout of shingles in September. My understanding of it is that the virus travels all through the nerve wreaking havok until it gets to the skin where it makes the pretty red bumps. It often damages the nerve causing pain for some time to come. The problem with this theory is that my shingles were on the left side, and the twitchy toe is on the right. Shingles is supposed to only affect one side of the body. 3) Increase in Trileptal. I had been taking 150 mg for a very long time, and recently bumped it up to 150mg twice a day. I know that's not very much, and I was taking the 150mg for months before bumping it.. so it's not like I just suddenly went from none to a lot. I think this also happened a good month or so before the twitching got obnoxious, so yeah. That's all I can think of as far as possible "reasons" for my twitchy toe. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel like such a whiner for even mentioning it. It's not like it hurts or anything, but gah! It's so annoying! I am about ready to just perform a home toectomy and get rid of the problem myself. SerraGeorge
Well.. yes and no. I have a lot of things going on that I would consider anxiety inducing.. I've got my SSDI hearing on Thursday, BF lives in San Francisco, and I miss him like crazy, can't take Zoloft anymore and have been put on Prozac, etc.. BUT, I don't *feel* particularly more anxious. Catnapper
Twitchy toe, huh? My professional diagnosis is either that it had too much roast beef and now has indigestion, or it's trying to get loose and run all the way home..... Sorry, pretty lame, I know!! Temptation stood and I fell! B) I do hope you get it sorted out - my cat would have destroyed it for you by now - even plain toes are fair game in his eyes! SerraGeorge
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is probably anxiety. I had my hearing on Thursday, and the judge said he was approving my disability and it seems to have calmed down a little. It is still twitchy, but not as bad as it was... either that or I'm just getting used to it. My neurologist comes back from vacation next month, and I'll make an appointment just to check, but it's not bugging me as much... yeah, not as much. I might just want to borrow that cat of yours though, Catnapper.
