witchywoman
How long does it take for the Klonopin wafers to kick in for an anxiety attack? I had one last night, so took a wafer, and I swear I started feeling better within 5 minutes, and was asleep within 20 minutes. I don't know if it really worked that fast, or if it was a placebo effect, and didn't really start working for 20 mins.
Thomas
Last night was my second klonopin wafer and it hit really fast, just like for you. I honestly can't see how I can use them for an anxiety attack at work, but pshrink said it shouldn't be a problem for that. Tommy
PanickyAndCrazy
What is a klonopin wafer? I've been on Clonazepam forever and haven't heard of much else about it.
divinedesign21
Klonopin is the brand name. Clonazepam is generic for Klonopin. Anyway, the wafers melt in your mouth and to me are less effective. I like the generics better. I take 1mg a day. Sometimes 3 if I'm in a foul mood. oh well, fuck it. Breeze
yeah, I have never gotten the "wafer" bit either. But I have found that "clonezapam" generic for klonopin, is chewable tastes like a mint. I think they did this on purpose, gets into the blood stream faster. As an experienced user ( ahem 4 years varrying amounts) I can say that it depends on the situation. You can be a wreck and take one and feel nothing. You can be really anxious, take one and feel better within 5-20 minutes, or you can take one when you don't feel that anxious and fall asleep. Everyone is different. Here is a tip though: I take mine .05 pills in half pill doses. This keeps the anxiety at bay, and doesn't make me fall asleep. However, I have also taken several in a day in full pill doses. Depends on the situation. Good luck - they are great in a pinch! Breeze

Thomas
I am finding the wafers don't put me to sleep if I take one at work and they kick in fast, but the after-taste is WAY SWEET, like super-sacharin, yech!!! Tommy
Chelsbean
Klonopin wafers are faster acting than the tablets because they are absorbed underneath the tongue, this often known because it effects the body faster. How, why does it? essentially, when a medicine is placed under your tongue, it diffuses through the mucous membranes beneath your tongue. And because of the plethora of capillaries there, the medicine has a fairly direct route into your bloodstream. This results in the medicine working faster, and oftentimes, better. Klonopin wafers are used best for people who have anxiety that effects their gastrointestinal system, to avoid taking a pill and keeping it down. If you have any other questions im an open book, been dealing with a very physical anxiety disorder for 8 yrs. I know all the tricks for any anxiety level.
