Geodon, missed period.

My period is about a week late. I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else knows for sure that Geodon can make you miss your period. It is possible that I'm pregnant but I think it's more likely that it's the Geodon. Last month my period was a little late and only lasted 3 days. It usually lasts about 5-6. I've been taking Geodon for about 4 months now. Anybody have some insight on this?

I'm not certain that ziprasidone can definitely cause erratic periods, but from personal experience, I remember my menstrual cycles were all over the place when I was still on the drug. I usually have 28 - 30 day cycles, but I remember there were times when my period was late by several weeks. I stopped trying to maintain a cycle calendar because it was basically unpredictable.

I was on ziprasidone for about 8 months, all up.

Thanks for the response. It helps to ease my mind. On my way to my appointment. Had some spotting this morning. Not sure if it's a full on period or not yet. I read that spotting could indicate pregnancy. Now I just have to wait and see.

Well according to a test I just got the results for, I'm pregnant. So maybe the Geodon made my previous periods shorter, but this time that wasn't the problem. o.o

Geodon can significantly raise Prolactin, the hormone that starts lactation. Thus, it will effect periods.
