luxroark
I take Effexor, Wellbutrin, Remeron, Latuda, Cogentin, Xanax and and Vistaril. I have a really bad head cold and was wondering if it would cause a bad reaction if I took Nyquil tonight.
The Emperor
Call your pharmacist. Tell them what meds you're on and what you want to take.
notfred
Nyquil contains alcohol (its 40 proof !) and benadryl so both may have an additive effect to Xanax and and Vistaril. Do you really need it for sleep ? If not you are better taking specific single ingredient OTC meds for specific symptoms. If you need benadryl for sleep, take it as a single product and skip the booze. Alcohol is bad for sleep, anyway. Multi-ingredient OTC cold meds are a bad idea. Better to take specific meds for specific symptoms. nf
luxroark
The pharmacist I called said to try Dayquil, since the Xanax, Vistaril and Remeron will make me tired.
notfred
Right, Dayquil is Nyquil without alcohol. nf
