I was diagnosed in 1990 at A&M as Bipolar 1. My Mother was also "manic depressive" and took her own life at age 47 that same year.

I am grateful for learning what works & does not work for me. I believe I have to take full resposibility for managing my illness. I ask for help when I need it.

I hope to learn from all of you. I like the sense of humor here!

Hi Mimi! Welcome to CB! I hope you like it here! I'm sorry to hear about your mother, I can't imagine. I'm glad you seem to be managing your illness well. I don't have BP, but I know how hard it is to keep up with meds and therapy.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I will most definitely read the rules. I'll be amazed if I can figure out how to navigate in a forum, half of the symbols at the top of this is "news" to me

When I came here, I just clicked on stuff to find out where I would go. If you get mixed up and don't know where you are, up at the top you will see "Forums." Click on that and you will get the whole list of forums and then you can scroll through them to find the one you want.

I hope you like it here. It's a big place, so don't get discouraged if you get mixed up.
