Beetzart
I come across people online who say that 'bigpharma' and doctors are just drugging people for profits. I find this quite insulting as I don't want a load of ignorant people speaking on my behalf. I wish I had had more support 20 years ago when I was 14/15 to help me and perhaps prescribe something (I was very anxious and depressed). It was too late when I was 18. I know that pharma companies have to at least get back what they invested in a drug but without them many people would suffer. Some people just want to fight against something until they realise they actually need proper medical help.
confused
I have mixed feelings on this. I understand they need to make profits and I'm grateful for the medication, but sometimes they go too far. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46556960/ns/business-world_business/ Big Pharma's shame: emerging markets bribery
jt07
I'm with confused on this. I am grateful for their efforts and the drugs they have produced, but I think they are over reaching in their prices. Why should an AAP cost $500 or more per month? Why should an AD be $200? I understand that R&D costs money, but how many of these drugs were developed in conjunction with universities which are tax-payer supported? And how many truly revolutionary meds have come out in recent years? I think they charge whatever they can convince the insurance companies or the government to pay. That said, I am very grateful to Bristol Meyers for providing me with free Abilify every month. Extremely grateful to be honest.
