Generic Adderall need some questions answered

Recommended Posts

Swims bottle reads "D-Amphetamine, generic substitute for adderall 20mg". Swim used to take a lot of XR adderall and now swim thinks tolerance may be involved. Swim takes one(1) 20mg instant release generic adderall at about 7:15am, and can still feel the wired, spacey feeling well into the late afternoon. Basically Swim would like to know what could cause instant release adderalls to effect him for so long. A reply would be much appreciated.

Are you prescribed these adderalls? Or I should say, is swim prescribed these adderalls? Ignore this question if you wish.

As for whether it's normal to feel IR adderalls so long - if you are not used to them, you may feel them for a while. I found that when I was taking a course of just the IR formulation, at first, I could still feel a residual trace effect even the next morning. It tends to hit harder and the plateau of actual effectiveness is shorter than the XR's, but the nervous effects are what tended to linger. The IR's are a bit harsher on the nervous system, from my experience, and they had a propensity to cause me insomnia whereas the XR's did no such thing.

Swim gets prescribed 20mg twice a day, but usually he only takes 1. Swim used to take 30-120mg's of adderall XR a day, for a good 8-10 months straight and then he stopped for a few months cold turkey. That was a few years ago though. I just want to know if there is something in swims diet or lifestyle that is causing this issue.

Probably not. If it were tollerance, you would likely not experience such a long duration of effect. If you're talking anything with calcium (or antacids) it may prolong the length of time the drug stays in your system, though.

I say it's probably not tollerance, but it depends how long you've gone without taking it. For me, if i skipped a day or two, my body reset and the IR's gave me a double-whammy effect and I'd be up for two days w/ out a sleep aid.
