lysergia
okay, right now i'm in love with lithium. i've only been on it three weeks and it's pulled me out of a place i didn't think i was going to get out of without going back into the hospital. i'm totally grateful, and totally willing to put up with the side effects thus far (nausea, tremor). but, last year close to this time, i got yanked off my antidepressants and put on seroquel while in hospital. i came out a month later thinking "WHY DID I NEVER TRY THIS BEFORE???", because i felt really really good (well, in comparison to the mixed state i went in with). i thought okay, this will be different... AAP's don't "poop out" like SSRIs, right? so i found my med for life? well, no. a few months ago, serious depression returned with a whopping side of anxiety. adding abilify didn't help. adding wellbutrin didn't help. it was time to say goodbye to seroquel. so, do i dare think that maybe lithium will be a keeper for more than a year? do people experience lithium working REALLY well at first, then one day not so much? i never see posts about it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen or that i'm not sort of deluded about the possibility. yeah i shouldn't be looking for potential problems, i know. i still want to know if my fears are irrational. Guest
I started it in 2008. It's held up okay for me, though I do get cyclical depression, though not of a crisis nature. My pdoc just added lamictal as a combo to bolster the mood stabilization.
