So from what I understand, you have been having a lot of different symptoms - anxiety, depression, anger, possibly bipolar - and you are on risperidone but you are not sure it's working for you and you are not currently seeing a psychiatrist.

If I can recommend one thing, it would be to find a psychiatrist you like and get into psychotherapy as well. Therapy can help you manage the stress/situational side of your problem, and a good psychiatrist can clear up your diagnosis and hopefully get you some more helpful medications. That's probably the best place for you to start.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time. I agree with what Tryp said, get yourself a team that you trust and explore the options.

Just because Risperidone doesn't work for you, doesn't mean that other drugs won't help you. I know I reacted badly to Risperidone, but now I'm on another drug, my life is so much better. If you find a decent psychologist and psychiatrist you may feel a lot better given time.

I've heard of TMS - never tried it though. I think it's generally considered to be second line to medication therapy, but I could be wrong.

I think getting in with a psychiatrist is a very good idea - keep us posted on how you're going with that.

i had the same thing when i quit pott when i was 16.. Somtimes when people quit pott your brain is trying to re set its chemical balance, you are going to experience anxiety, anti socialness, depression, bi polar symptoms etc. you have to wait it out and rebuild yourself and your confidence. your 18 your young, take baby steps. I was crippled with anxiety and anti socialness after drugs,i forced my self to get a job, somthing easy, anything, part time at first, money didn't matter but somthing that forced me to talk to people and be social to try to help. after awhile the anxiety and symptoms start to dwindle, your confidence gains. Life events and life experiences can sometimes be the best therapy. risperidone is very aggressive, and if i could go back into time i would stop that doc from giving it to me when i was 19 i would in a heartbeat.

I have taken risperidone for six years to manage my bipolar and it has done so excellently. There is nothing wrong with the medication in and of itself, it might not suit everyone, as psych meds are so individual. But I don't want the OP scared off it by one person with a bad experience. It can be a very effective treatment.
