SpartanForce
I was only taking this med for 1 week for clonazepam withdrawal, and now I can't get off. I'm trying with zolpidem at night to get off but the anxiety is so big. This is an med that worsed my depression and is extremely easy to get addicted. Careful people. netsavy006
It is possible to come off Ativan, but you have to work closely with your doctor to accomplish that to avoid terrible withdrawals. Good luck, ~ Andy
dancesintherain
ativan can do a lot of good for a lot of people. getting off can be done--just work w/ your doctor to get a plan. it can feel crappy for a bit...or it could be that another med might help instead of having to tolerate it. but a good call for a psychiatrist to make. TOT
I, personally, have never had a problem getting off it. I've been on and off it for years, haven't had any in 2 months. Seroquel, now that's another story

FlamelessCandle
@Spartan.... I have a question; just noticed this thread. You were on ativan for a week for clonazepam w/d and now are having trouble getting off the ativan, correct? So ..... about the clonazepam withdrawal. I've been on clonaz. for a long time and am trying to taper down (slowly, and it IS a real pain!) and I found that with the half-life being quite long, it would be several days; even a week before I'd be in any sort of full withdrawal. So my question is: after being on the ativan for only a week do you feel that you've completed the clonazepam withdrawal? I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, but I'm thinking your symptoms might not just be from the ativan but still from the clonazepam. How long were you on the clonazepam before you tried the ativan? Thanks; sorry for all the questions
Wooster
right... good point... good solid benzo tapers tend to take a more significant amount of time... like weeks to months.
