pierce8468
hello everyone, I found this board doing a google search on borderline and felt like I should come check out the site and see if it helps me any. I was diagnosed ten years or so ago as bipolar, but I am starting to to think I was misdiagnosed and I may actually be borderline. I currently have no health insurance so I guess I wont find out for a few months when I have insurance again. But hopefully I can learn a lot about myself and borderline from the people on this site. Indigo 'n dye
The curse of not having adequate insurance is the Damocles Sword that sits above far too many of us here on CB. Welcome, best wishes, and hullo!
Guest Recluse
Welcome. You are in good company. Regardless of whether or not you end up diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, everyone, (even those 'normal' folks out there) can learn a lot from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) so you can and totally should go ahead and get started learning about it regardless of your DX. Both DBT and CBT are fucking awesome, especially since you can do a lot of the therapy by yourself, at home. No need for insurance, no need for a therapist, although there are a lot of great therapists out there who offer hands-on help, and if your insurance thing settles out, you ought to look into them too. pierce8468
Thank you everyone for welcoming me! Pure I was actually thinking about buy books on both of those subjects and giving them a try. Do you have any reccomendations on where to begin learning about these systems? It may be 3 months or so before I am able to see a therapist but I would like to get a head start figuring out how to rewire my brain so to speak.
