Damik
I've been taking Saphris for about six months now, and it works for me. I haven't had a psychotic episode since going on the drug. I went off it for about a month and I had some issues that may or may not have been associated with going off the drug. I went back on it two weeks ago and have been fairly stable. Just one hiccough and I don't know if that was med related or not. The issue I have is that my insurance will not cover Saphris and I can't afford to pay for it myself. So what I was wondering if there was an antipsychotic that I could look into replacing it with. I'm currently on Geodon but one antipsyc doesn't do it for me. I can't take Abilify, Zyprexia, Seroquil, or Latuda because of side effects. Are there any other options for me to ask my pdoc about?
jt07
Have you tried to appeal the descision by your insurance company? Can you get your pdoc to write a letter stating that you need this med? Check out needy meds site: http://www.needymeds.org/ Perhaps they have something to help you if your insurance won't pay.

Yeah, he's appealed to the insurance co. twice now and they refuse. I checked out needymeds and found the pills listed at $10.30 per pill.
Velvet Elvis
Risperdal is generic now so there should be no problem with your insurance covering it.
llama44
Fanapt? Risperdal? Invega? Abilify (did you say that one?)? Clozaril? Then you can prob get off of the geodon since its not doing much for you anyways. Or can you get you get off geodon now and stay on saphris? I'm just spouting out ideas here so disregard any bad ones. I hope you find a good solution.
Indigo 'n dye
Off topic comment perphenazine works well for me .. I think my last prescription for perphenazine was less than $5. It was prescribed for severe nausea and vomiting during chemo and it worked much better than the ultra-expensive Zofran.
