refurbished
I impulsively threw away all of my medicine last semester. (; But as you can imagine, in no time I went haywire. Good. Specific to Anxiety: After irrationally being promiscuous with the person that sits next to me in Phil, I know I'll be watched. I'm having panic attacks over spring break knowing I have to attend that class. After not taking medicine for a while, is it a good idea to take Ativan before the class? It's a pretty difficult class, and for some obscure reason, I seem to be called on a lot to answer all the philosophical questions humans can't answer (: - with this being reason for the anxiety I already had beforehand, is there anything I can do to counter the cognitive dulling of Ativan? Please tell me someone knows a good pair, Ativan + Adderall/Ritalin? Do they cancel out? Dangerous?
Guest
Is this medication that you have been prescribed (the ritalin and the ativan?)
refurbished
Yeah, but both were meant to be used when necessary, and I can't remember if they were advised to be taken together. Is this something that would be better dealt with Lamotrigene?
jt07
I have found that lamotrigine does not help with anxiety.
Guest
Lamotragine is a mood stabilizer, it's not primarily for anxiety and it needs gradual supervised titration up to an effective dose. Is there a reason why you're not seeing a pdoc now given that you're symptomatic and need meds?
refurbished
The only one I can afford is the one on campus (comes as a benefit for attending), but I'm unable to see him often enough with so many students in need. Also, I started missing all the appointments and the fee for missing was really high. So often times I have to decide on my own what the next step is. I guess I'm just all over the place. Guest
It's probably not what you want to hear but psychiatric medication needs to be prescribed by a pdoc and monitored, you can't do it yourself based on knowledge that you find on the internet. If you want to post more about how you might access care and how to get bipolar under control then please do, but I have to close this thread because we don't support people in messing about with medication which can be dangerous if not administered properly.
