Hello!

I'm a 35 yr old mom, teacher, and heart patient who is working with bipolar, panic, anxiety, and post traumatic stress. I take meds for my heart problems as well as small doses of Xanax and some Cymbalta to control my lows. I still get depressed, but it doesn't completely devistate my life now. I can get out of bed and look at something other than the blank wall. I usually cycle only hypomanic (I've only been to the hospital for mania once) so I don't take a mood stabelizer. I hate them. They make me feel dead inside. Instead I take minimal meds and work with my therapist. We recently worked through some hospital trauma using EMDR. I have also been practicing affermations and positive communication skills (for speaking with doctors). It feels weird at first, but like anything, to make it work, I have to keep at it. I've had great success with therapists and been completely disappointed by psychiatrists. I currently see my family doctor for my Cymbalta.

I've been reading for a while. I've also read the New User stuff and am excited to know about nipple clamps. It's nice to read something and think, "That's what it's like for me!" (I mean this mostly in regards to disorders and not nipple clamps. Mostly.)

Welcome to Crazyboards. Are you really able to go off and on Cymbalta? Some of us have found going off it pretty exciting, with the brain zaps and all. I guess I'm not about what you meant saying you take "....some Cymbalta."

Anyway, I'm glad you read the User Agreement and feel free to contact one of us (the staff) if you have any questions. I hope you like being a part of this community.

Sorry I didn't mean for it to sound like I don't take Cymbalta regulary. It is Xanax that I take "as needed." I definitely get the brain zaps, the sweats, and a sick stomach if I miss a day of Cymbalta. It is the one thing I can think of that I am literally addicted to!

Thanks!
