I've been taking 15mg for nearly a week, no side effects, no weight gain I can see or feel (don't have scales!)......

I start on 30mg on Thurs.....but d'you reckon I'm Remeron side-effect safe now? ;)

It seems to be really doing the business!!!!

must fly now, or I'll be late for work.....

Unfortunately no.  It took me a long time to notice the weight gain. I gained 5 kg in about 6 months in the end.  It creeps up on you, because you just gradually get more hungry and you think its natural.  Other side effects might appear at bigger doses too... 15 mg is quite a low dose if I remember right.  But its still a good sign ;) .

Also, I recommend taking the 30mg earlier than you normally would. You might sleep a lot more than you were expecting.

Hope everything goes well for you.  The dreams can be very, er, vivid.  Remember that its not all coming from your subconscious- some of the incredible weirdness really just is the drug.

I didn't have any start up side effects at all with Remeron and didn't notice any difference going from 15-30 mg.  In fact, I ended up dropping back down to 15 from 30 because I felt the effects were the same on both dosages, but that's just me.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.  Taking it a bit earlier is probably good advice in case it makes you groggier in the morning.

yep, I already warned the folks at work in advance lol! and, I can call in if I need longer to 'come round'.....but I'm sure I'll be fine....

(tell me to log out and go to bed if you see me online here tomorrow night after 9pm!!!!!!)

I don't feel particularly hungrier so far.

But I'm going to talk things through with my GP on Friday. (I don't see my pdoc for over a month and my GP is a woman and so I can talk about stuff like that with her)

*****poss trigger mentions weights and stuff*****

I am currently 6 stone 10 ish (about 43 kilos?) and am 5 foot tall (about 150cm?) with light bone density. I have always been underweight, though at most have been nearly 7 and a half stone.

(I lost several pounds my first week on Efexor....THAT was horrid....even lost my taste for chocolate.....although now I take magnesium supplements I didn't get chocolate cravings even premenstrually this month! amazing stuf, magnesium! I have put some of that back on though I think.)

For my height and bone density I am supposed to be ideally 8 stone. I can't imagine myself at 8 stone AT ALL....
