Pirate
anyone get flu type symptoms after going up on lamictal? each time I go up even .25mg, in two days I feel like crap. the amount I go up seems to determine how crappy I will feel. Also my blood pressure is up again. (today 151 / 89) don;'t know if that is just me or the meds. pdoc says no, lamictal should'nt cause me to feel crappy. (famous words eh?) Im not going to my regular doc yet, I ws just there for something else and I got the feeling that he th inks I am a little Munchausen and doesnt beleive me. He's not a jerk or anything, just vibes, ya know. anyway, others experiences here would help me feel not so "crazy" lol thanks (Tegretol 400mg, lamictal 200mg so far, seroquel 100mg, provigil prn)
crtclms
When I was at a low dosage, I had a lot of aches and pains, enough on some days that I lay down for a bit. I started at 25mg, because I was on Depakote. It continued through 50 and 75 mg, and at 100mg stopped. I haven't had aches and pains since then, though, and I am on 300mg of Lamictal. I think I remember other people saying they had the same side effect. There are a zillion people on Lamictal here, so hopefully someone can give you a more useful answer. CookieN
Pirate: I don´t know lamictal. However when I was on an antidepressant and had flu like symptoms which can be linked to liver difficulties some times.
Danni1230
Whenever I would go up a dose I would sometimes get aches and pains in my body, but they went away after a couple days. I went all the way up to 400mg. I noticed it more at the lower dosages for some reason.
dancesintherain
mine weren't necessarily flu-like, but definitely a "slightly out of sorts, feeling a bit under the weather" sort of vibe. once i got to 100, that craziness stopped.
KevinMemphis
I experienced much of what you are going through. I started on Lamictal six months ago and have slowly worked up to 300mg daily. With each increase in dosage, I experienced quite a bit of pain in my upper back and neck. Each time, the pain backed off after a week or two, but it was painful to the degree that I considered asking my Doc to take me off it. I toughed it out, and I'm glad I did. Lamictal has helped me greatly, but yeah, it absolutely sucked with each increase in dosage.
