daisy131864
i am experiencing some zombie like effects on my current cocktail of abilify and xanax, as well as some cognitive dulling. my pdoc gave me the choice to cut back either one, because either one could be the culprit. i chose the xanax, because i'm too freaking nuts right now to let go of the abilify. has anyone else found this issue on either of these meds? i also talked to a psychiatric pharmacist, and her first instinct was the xanax because of the forgetfullness. jt07
I'd say see how it goes off the Xanax. I do not find Abilify dulling, but that doesn't mean that it can't affect other differently.
crtclms
I'd listen to the pdoc over the pharmacist, no matter how specialized she is. A lot of people on here on AAPs complain about zombie-like feelings. I've heard "zombie" referring to them a lot more than I have heard that about benzos. And of course I can't speak for your pharmacist, but several people on CBs have dealt with pharmacists who don't like benzos, and lecture patients on how addictive they are. So many pharmacists are biased against benzos.
daisy131864
thanks guys! i go back to the pdoc next week; she wants me to cut back on the xanax first to see if that is the culprit, and if it it isn't, we'll cut back on the abilify. i'm only on 10, and it took me 2 years to get to 10 b/c i'm so chemically sensitive. so we shall see.
