somementill
Has anyone taken Vistaril for akathisia and did it work? If not, what works the best..
vanderk
Some people find relief from EPS with antihistamines. The more commonly prescribed agents, though, are anticholinergics, such as Cogentin and Artane.
notfred
Beta blockers like propranolol have a low side effect profile and are not as drying as anticholinergics.
gizmo
I personally haven't had as much success with vistoril (though I've doubled up on Benadryl in an emergency) for akathesia. I take artane, but I'm thinking about getting an increased in dose because the double whammy of both risperdal and seroquel is giving me the restless legs at night really bad. somementill
I've taken propranolol in the past but it caused my pulse to drop dangerously. Does artane work? I mean keep you from experiencing that panic and pacing sensation when akathisia kicks in..
netsavy006
Artane did provide improvement for me when I had akathisia, but I have this weird side effect from it, where it makes me itchy all over. Therefore, I can't take Artane, but it did help. I was on the 2mg pills.
