I went through a phase like this. I'd also get a thumping, racing heart. My pdoc didn't really take it seriously either, I thought I was going to die. I assumed it was a blood pressure reaction, but it felt like an allergy or something.

I'm still on seroquel and the side effects have quietened down again. Interesting that others got this reaction.

Yes, I got the racing heart as well. I went into the hospital and got a heart monitor, it showed about 2 hrs after i took the pill that i ahd a sinus tachycardia event about 130 bpm. I was also having the blood pressure symptoms feeling like I was about to faint. I got scared and got myself off the drug. My doctor told me I needed to up the dose. I don't know what to do at the time so I quit, because I thought I was about to die as well.

I would def. try to monitor your blood sugar, but I will say that for a little while after starting and increasing the dose of my Seroquel, I would have these episodes where my heart would race, I would sweat and feel pukey. It went away when I would lie down. Now it doesn't happen at all.

When I was titrating my Seroquel I used to go deathly white, my blood pressure would drop dramatically,( I remember one time it was 60/30....I was in the hospital), I would get really dizzy and nauseous and my heart rate would go really fast, usually over 120 bpm. My blood sugar level was fine. Whenever your blood pressure drops, your heart rate often increases to compensate. In my case, once I reached a steady dose of 400mg and stayed at that dose for a while all of those symptoms stopped.
