koali777
I've been on Cogentin for a week now, and this blurry vision thing is maddening. It helps great with akathisia and calming me down, but I can't read anything more than 6 inches away. If I take my glasses off, I'm so nearsighted that by the time I get the book close enough to read, it's TOO close. Does this go away? I love reading but I can't. Like right now, what I'm typing is blurry. It's aggravating.
somementill
I don't remember having blurry vision, but I did remember that this drug causes your pupils to dilate. I don't recall that side effect going away after a week. I'd say if you have this problem past 2 weeks its probably not going away.
melissaw72
I had blurry vision when I was on cogentin.. But I wasnt on it long enough because of other side effects that were getting in the way.
crtclms
If it is true that it dilates your pupils, have you tried reading with sunglasses? I know that sounds weird, but when I have migraines, I often wear prescription sunglasses indoors, and my sight is actually a little better because of some way it narrows down the light spectrum (that is mutilating my husband's explanation). If you think you want to wait a little longer before throwing in the towel, that might help you read, at least.
koali777
Interesting...I'm gonna try that. Plus if I'm home, no one can think I look weird lol. I'm really into reading lately and don't want to miss out.
bluechick
I was on Cegentin for akathesia for a month. I stopped specifically because of the eyesight impairment. I simply cannot tolerate the drug.
