So, I started on Lamictal and Seroquel about four months ago, and have been increasing the dosage pretty steadily since then.

These past few weeks I noticed a really terrible smell clinging to my room. At first I thought that it was a pet - they had been sick for a while. However, a couple weeks ago I had them put down. Since then the smell has not left the room. I have washed everything cloth that I own with vinegar and baking soda, I have scrubbed the floors with vinegar, I have aired out the room (and the mattresses) on a sunny day. I have installed a charcoal deodorizing air filter... a the odor is still there. I hate to think that it's me, but I tried sleeping in the living room while my bedroom was airing out and the odor seems to have shifted to there!

The smell itself is hard to describe. The only word that comes to mind is "sour."

I have never had a problem with body odor before in my life! My next step is to try switching up my diet and see if that helps, but honestly, I don't know why that would suddenly be an issue.

If it is the medication I don't know what I'll do! I have treatment resistent depression and it has taken so long to find something that I tolerate at all.

I have never had body odour issues on either lamictal or seroquel. However when I was on Valdoxan (Agomelatine) which is an anti-depressant approved in Europe. I definitely had a weird body odour. i know I was sweating more but it wasn't a normal body odour smell but a really gross horrible stench. I was only on the medication for a few months and quit it because it wasn't helping and as soon as I went off it the strange body odour disappeared.

I've noticed a strange metallic scent of my body odor, but only when I get close to the armpit area. I can even smell it in the shower sometimes, so if I can't get clean there, where am I going to be?

I'd call your pdoc or your gp up and see if you can discuss it with them since the smell is so persuasive.

I don't know about meds causing body odors, but my husband smells metallic after seizures, and is on 3 ACs. The entire time I have known him, he has been on ACs, so I can't say if they cause the odor in the "aftermath."

It sounds plausible to me, and even if it isn't, it is causing you distress, so you should tell your pdoc about it.
