I am not a doctor so this is just my crazy lay opinion. I would go with the Prozac over Endronax because the manufacturer couldn't demonstrate its efficacy over placebo to the US FDA to get it approved in the United States. I don't know how Prozac is with respect to weight gain. As always, it is better to go with the advice of your doctor.

Prozac was the first SSRI widely marketed in the US so it has a long history. It's a good AD, but I don't think it is any better than the other SSRIs. If you had success with Cipralex, which is an SSRI, then you might have success with Prozac.

Are these options that your doctor has offered you? If Cipralex worked for you, it might be worth trying another drug in the same class, which would suggest another SSRI.

Endronax/reboxetine is an NARI; that is it works on inhibition of reuptake of noradrenaline rather than serotonin (which the SSRIs like prozac work on).

It can be quite stimulating. I actually brought it up with my own p-doc the other day, and he said it may have merit for me if augmented with an ssri like prozac. But he wants me to give the prozac a full 6 weeks before making any decisions.

He also said that whilst the side effect profile is quite good (for reboxetine) it can cause agitation. Its probably better for depressive rather than anxiety disorders in most people.

Anyway, a few different meds to talk to your dr about. SSRIs (like prozac & citalopram), NARIs like reboxetine and SNRIs like Effexor. Unfortunately finding the right med is a bit hit and miss, so you need to be patient and work with your dr while trying to fight the right med(s) for you.
