koali777
This probably will most likely be answered by women, but I welcome anyone with any knowledge of this. Now, on past antipsychotics, my periods would stop. This time however, I have had 3 in 2 months, and all wretched cramps and flu-like PMS. It's like the horror stories I read about the unfortunate women that have a hard time each month. Can Latuda, or any antipsychotic, make you have cycles too frequently or severely? I'm definitely going to ask the doctor about this. But I just wondered if anyone knew. I'd thought I was very sick each time, but really it ended up just being symptoms before it actually started. I was too queasy to do anything, and in a lot of pain. It's annoying.
larkspur
From what I understand, most AAP can/do cause hyperprolactinemia, which does result in amenorrhea, no periods. When your prolactin levels are elevated, it's like pressing "pause" in your cycle. If you're now on a med that doesn't mess with prolactin, your lady hormones are likely disregulated and are trying to shed a TON of uterine lining. Have you been to the gyno lately? It might help for you to have some hormonal "guides" to get things back to normal. NuvaRing might be an option since it bypasses the liver and gut so has potentially lower risk of interactions.
