Hi all,

I've been taking Latuda for almost 2 months now and recently not long after I take it I go into a depression that seems to last about 6 hours. I tried timing the pill at different parts of the day, it definitely seems to be part of the Latuda the depression that is. I hate taking it at night because I find myself not being able to sleep right away so I usually read for about 3 hours. Melatonin only sometimes helps. But yeah, after I get done with everything for the day like going to the gym, shopping, etc, I eat then take Latuda and not long afterwards my outlook on life goes grim. I believe mental exhaustion may be a contributor to the depression also. I'm not sure. But everything else is fine like I took a tab roughly at 6:00pm today for 6 hours I lay in bed, moping, sleeping somewhat can't function. Now its 12:30AM and I'm not depressed anymore, so I wonder.. Thanks.

Me too! I posted a similar thing in a different thread. I was mad I had to take it with food because I didn't want the extra calories, but hated taking it at dinner because I get what you're talking about. I'm not sure why it does this. Someone told me it's just a blip in my life; it may be for you as well. I've been on it 2 months as well.

Yeah when you first started out Latuda did it do this to you? When I first started I didn't notice this effect. I haven't taken Latuda all day so far gonna wait until later. I found that I have much more energy during the day. But I dread taking it tonight, I hope I sleep through it. Take care.

Nope, didn't do it at first. First night, put me right to sleep. For a few weeks it'd wipe me out. Then, when it stopped making me so drowsy so quickly, I noticed the akathisia and depression. At first, it was a miracle drug. It is still, I think. Just sometimes makes me too apathetic.
