I just recently began taking Seroquel.  I take 50 mg before bed and 200 mg in the morning.  Since I've been taking it, I have been waking up at night upwards of 4-5 times.  I'm not sure if it is related to dream sequences or not because when I go back to sleep, I generally just continue on with the dream I had before waking.  Anyone else get this?

Hi ... I just started to take seroquel on Friday......only 25 or  50mg. to help

with anxiety so I can fall asleep.      I have been having some intense dreams.

Last night for the first time I woke up.....and I did think that was pretty strange

and I did fall back asleep quickly after getting up for a few minutes.  But

I have been having a hard time waking up in the morning.....I take all my other meds in the morning and that usually gave me a jump start.......

Is this just adjustment to the seroquel??  Do you have a hard time waking up in the morning??

I would also sometimes wake up during or right after a vivid dream but be able to go right back to sleep. I don't think it's that uncommon.

I definitely agree that the fatigue from daytime dosage will decrease with time. Your body just has to adjust. It can be hard for me to wake up after a low dose of Seroquel as well, if I take it after not having done so for a while. It is worth hanging in there to see if it improves.

i took seroquel before (er.. months ago like Oct 04-feb 05) for sleep. 25mg. it's low - im 100 lbs 5'6 so i guess it doesn't take much. this was added to effexor.

during that time, i slept like LOG.

Now i'm started on 300mg lithium Wed. (again, i'm a lightweight) and pdoc said 'seroquel for three days to reset sleep cycle, get some good solid days and we'll see how that helps.

well, 25mg of sero and i was up multiple times. i can't even count. i don't think there were any vivid or frightening dreams.. just totally disrupted sleep. i expected that i would get to sleep like a log so im disappointed. i do feel tired too.

anyway, i don't know if it's because i was on it before and off it and now back on.. or what.

but it sucked, came looking for a thread and here one is.

;)

pj

ps i'd be interested to hear if the waking up thing goes away in a while or continues, and if you continue to feel rested
