Hi I Am New Here

Recommended Posts

I ended up here looking for different answers or maybe the same answers on medications that I take. I have Bi-Polar II, which is more common of the Bi-Polar conditions. We have such a delightful mix of medications to take.

I used to have a really good psychiatrist but she transferred to in-patient therapy in a hospital. The person I have now seems to want me to be on tons of Seroquel. I use it to sleep but at high dosages I have trouble swallowing. We played medication games and found out that I could only take 25% of medications out there. Most of them make me nauseous. I also take Klonopin for anxiety, Hydroxyzine for panic attacks and for falling asleep and Zonegran as a mood stabilizer. I hate the thought of never being off meds, but the other alternative is suicide. So I think I will stick with the meds.

Welcome to Crazyboards. I'm sorry to hear about the side effects you've been experiencing, and I hope your doctor can figure out a medication regimen for you that helps you to be stable without making you sick.

I am hoping I won't experience another round of GERD. This is from increasing the Seroquel from 200mg to 300mg at night. I am taking 250mg tonight because I hate that volcanic feeling in my esophagus. The only trouble I have is with falling asleep and staying asleep. At first Seroquel worked but with a different clinician, she doesn't get it. It also made me gain over 100 lbs. I am now below that weight and want to lose 40 lbs. more. But Seroquel is death to weight loss. At this forum has some great people with the same problems looking for some answers.
