Why would a Pdoc drop the Wellbutrin from 400 to 300 and add 10mg of lexapro?

The anxiety level I guess was increasing. So I can only assume that is the reason.

To start off at 10 seems high though ?

Just a question as my freind just got those marching orders but just blindly follows

the Pdoc's commands.

He's way different than most of the CM clients. He has no clue about meds. He tells me he wants to take the whole bottle of lexapro because he doesn't want to fight with anyone. HE's joking of course about changing his dose.

Well when my pdoc added Adderall to my Effexor he decreased the dosage of the Effexor in half (!) 'cause the Adderall is a stim and Effexor can have a stim effect & I suppose he didn't want my brain to implode.

10mg is what I started on Lexapro-I think its the basic staring dosage for Lex. Max dosage is 40mg. No I don't recommend he take them all now. Not unless he wants a bunch of fugly side effects multiplied times ten.

well, I'm a little late, but my Dr. just reduced my 450 mgs of Wellbutrin XL down to 300 mgs, and added 10 mgs of Lexapro.  I start tomorrow...

I'd be interested to hear feedback from others on this combo.

I have been on 300 to 450 mg Wellbutrin, and 5 to 10 mg Lexapro for about a  year. Overall it's good. I rode the med-go-round for about 7 years before I got to this combination.

I've gone up and down a little with these two, and found that 300 WB, and 10 mg Lexapro is probably the best mix. 450 WB gave me a facial twitch. 5 mg Lexapro is ok, but 10 is better for anxiety.

YMMV, but it's a good cocktail IMO.

For both Lexapro and Celexa, it's usually a one shot deal. 10 mgs for Lex and 20 mgs for Cel as a starting dose. For the majority of folk, that's it. That's the starting dose and maintenance dose.

FYI, I'm on 450 Wellbutrin and 50 Zoloft. It works, it really really works.

I'm very apprehensive about this combo... I don't know why.  I've effed myself up with so many illegal drugs, and I can't understand why I'm so afraid to try another SSRI.

It's irritating to me that I've explained to my dr. several times that my lack of libido (even on 450 mgs WB) and my weight are huge factors when it comes to my depression.  I've seen so many people post about how they couldn't orgasm on Lex and how much weight they gained.  I think I've scared myself out of trying it with the reading I've done today.

I'm just really confused overall.
