krosty Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 I'm in the middle of my latest guinea pig drug trial. I thought I'd share to see if anyone else has found success with this approach. I'm Bipolar II with GAD. Depakote for mania, Lamictal for depression. Cut out Wellbutrin in favor of Lamictal. Cut out Klonopin for Inderal because my anxiety symptoms are mostly physical and Wellbutrin may have been causing some of the anxiety. A little Seroquel for sleep. I'm excited to be antidepressant free after learning that after 6 years of fooling with them they could have been exasperating symptoms. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 It sounds like a pretty good combination to me but what do I know? Time will tell if it'll work or not. Titrating the Lamictal is a pain. You won't really know if it'll work for you or not until you get to a higher dosage. Although some folks notice a difference while still titrating. Good luck with it. Keep us posted. I am on valproex/depakote for my mood disorder and it helps my depression significantly, though I have read in many places that it tends to not help with the depression side of things. I don't just completely stop functioning anymore. BTW I'm like Miron in thinking that the Depakote is doing some of this work by itself. Best of luck.
