Mrs. Brady
Hiya, I'm going up to 450 mg from 300mg... But I just can't, for the life of me, figure out what time to fit that extra dose in? I take 150 first thing in the morning, 150 at 2pm...surely taking another at 8 is going to keep me awake all night? Any and all advice greatly appreciated. lms10691
What medication is it? Also is the 150 in one pill or multiple, also if it is the type of pill (check this as some can't be) that can be sliced you could do this and just increase your current two dosages by half a pill. Though shouldn't your pdoc have instructed you how to take it when it was prescribed? I thought that it was necessary for dosage instructions to be written on the prescription though that might just be an Australian thing.
Mrs. Brady
It's zyban ( Wellbutrin). One tab is 150mg slow release. I'm in Australia and its my gp who is rxing for me...he suggested night time, but I know from the awesome info on here that it's a bad plan. Can't split tabs due to being sr
melissaw72
I take mine separated every 8 hours. I'm on 300 mg/day. What is your dosing schedule now? Did your DR give you an idea of when to take it?
lms10691
I would still try the doctors plan for at least a little bit as everyone acts differently to Meds and personally I would always try the doctors way first, and that way if it affects your sleep you've at least tried his way so you can say tried this doesn't work well for me, how else could I take it. In my experience doctors tend to get pissed if you don't follow their dosing instructions lol.
Mrs. Brady
Nah, my gp is flying by the seat of his pants with me on this one as lexapro and zyban are not generally used together in oz for anything other than smoking cessation. He gave it to me because I showed him all of the experiences on here and he is amazed at the change in me already. It was my idea to up it to 450... I tried upping the lexapro from 5 to 10 mg. but it made my vision horribly blurred. I currently take 300... Morning and 2 pm.
crtclms
I take 450mg of the extended release. I take it all at once, at noon (I take meds at noon and midnight). My pdoc told me to take it that way, because the extended release would maintain my blood level.
Mrs. Brady
Wow! All in one go? I thought I read somewhere not to take more than 300 in one dose? So it does not keep you awake at night at all? I hate the horrible half dream half awake state it can cause when taken too late. Thank you so much for your input - I will try it tomorrow and see how we go! Mrs. Brady
Ah yes.. You are quite right! Found this article which does indeed say ER should be taken all at once! http://www.medicinenet.com/bupropion/article.htm
