ahalo
I was taken off Lithium then I attempted suicide last saturday. The doctor at the hospital agreed to give me thorazine to help me sleep. I then read that Thorazine was used at times with bipolar. My normal pdoc asked me if I had gone to the hospital with the "quacky doctor" (I didn't). So now I'm like, is he gonna take me off it? I actually like it a lot and it does help me sleep. I'm on 50 mg was told 100 mg would be ok too but I was only given a two week supply of 50 mg due to the overdose. It makes me feel really chill throughout the day, like my anxiety is alleviated quite a bit which is good since now my pdoc is taking me off benzos Anyway has anyone ever used Thorazine and found it helpful/unhelpful? I asked this a couple months back but I can't find the thread. thanks!!
Screamingbutterfly
Yes, I take 10mgs of thorazine. It's not a lot mg wise for my dose, but I do find it helpful if I have anxiety before bed and it helps me sleep better.
Guest
I took it years ago. It is one of the older APs. Lots of people actually do better on the older APs rather then the newer AAPs. I know that I prefer the older ones. They're supposed to have more side effects but for me they don't. I have far fewer side effects on the older APs. I say, if it's working for you then stick with it. I'd ask my pdoc for a refill if I were you.
Guest
Is this the other thread? http://www.crazyboards.org/forums/index.php/topic/57144-thorazine/page__hl__thorazine
rowan77
I have never been on Thorazine but I just want to say to you that seeing as it is summer, to be careful in the sun as Thorazine can cause photo-sensitivity leading to severe sunburn so it is really important to wear a high sun protection factor if taking this medication and are out in the sun. Bama
What brands of thorazine are you taking? The brand I've been taking has been discontinued.. Hate changing when something is working. I also found out that they do not make Thorazine in an AB generic form. The equivalent tot the real things. They only make it in a bp generic, kind of scary having to change brands. So who manufactures what y'all are taking? thanks for your help. Sandoz is the one that has just changed. They were making their own now they have upshire making it for them. Yes, I'm real picky when I find something that works. zyprexa lithobid klonopin artane weaning trileptal
crtclms
I know this sounds insane, but my dad used to give us tiny doses of thorazine for nausea when we were kids. He would hide it in a scoop of ice cream, because we were so young and stupid we would eat ice cream even when we felt sick.
