LexFlex
Hi, from what I know, orthomolecular corrects the imbalances in your biochemistry by natural means, like herbs, veggies, and minerals. I don't know much about it. But I have noticed since eating more healthy and supplementing my physiology has been running better. Thoughts and feelings are more pleasant less ill feelings. I just want to know what is the treatment that orthomolecular clinics provide? I heard they just give you a bunch minerals in high dosages and its suppose to correct the imbalance. Have you heard or know anything about it?

AirMarshall
Send me half the money you have and I'll send you pills and natural things. Both of us will feel better. Orthomolecular treatment is hogwash, bogus, designed to suck money from the gullible. If it worked, we would be treated with it. Any doctor or scientist who discovered that it worked would be famous and rich. If you believe that big pharma is blocking it, then you have other personal problems believing in conspiracy theories. Dr. Jim Phelps has a wonderful though slightly disorganized websites that evaluates all the best treatments. http://www.psycheducation.org/ For searching the scientific literature use this site PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ It covers most med/bio journals going back 30-40 years. Just enter search terms like "Bipolar Lithium Orotate" If you find citations here, then we can discuss them with pretty good confidence the info is reliable. notfred
So no one knows how it works? Excuse me, but are you reading the frigging links people have provided for you ? I guess not or you would realize it does not work at all. Junk science.
Indigo 'n dye
So no one knows how it works? Seconding notfred. It does not work. There is no "how it works".
confused
Hi, from what I know, orthomolecular corrects the imbalances in your biochemistry by natural means, like herbs, veggies, and minerals. I don't know much about it. But I have noticed since eating more healthy and supplementing my physiology has been running better. Thoughts and feelings are more pleasant less ill feelings. I just want to know what is the treatment that orthomolecular clinics provide? I heard they just give you a bunch minerals in high dosages and its suppose to correct the imbalance. Have you heard or know anything about it? That's basically it. It's junk science. The links will give you more info, but bottom line it doesn't work. If you are feeling better with eating healthy and taking supplements (I'm assuming in normal doses) keep it up, but don't waste your money Do you see a pdoc? You could ask if there are any supplements that might be beneficial, but don't stop meds if you are on them. My pdoc is fine with me adding fish oil. LexFlex
So your saying herbal supplements are junk and that large amounts of minerals do nothing for your illness?
Indigo 'n dye
So your saying herbal supplements are junk and that large amounts of minerals do nothing for your illness? Paraphrasing notfred, have you read any of the information found in the links provided for you? Apparently not, for if you had read anyone of them you would not be asking this question. confused
So your saying herbal supplements are junk and that large amounts of minerals do nothing for your illness? You have to be careful with which supplements, herbs you take. Some don't mix well with meds or could exacerbate symptoms. I don't take herbal or mineral supplements. Orthomolecular treatment is bogus. If there is a particular supplement you are considering you should talk to your pdoc.
LexFlex
Yup and I guess if orthomolecular was a cure it'd be more mainstream and everybody would be talking about it, and going on it.. but in reality it isn't. I just thought it could give just a small minor, slight improvement you know in addition to what anti psychotics provide for you today. Thanks.
