soXamor
Just curious My doctor just put me up to 1050 mg and that just seems like so much, so I'm curious as to what other people take that keeps them stable?
San
I'm on 900mg with a blood level of ~0.8 I titrated up from 300mg and noticed immediate affects. It hits everybody differently, some people need 600mg, some need 1800, to be in a good therepeutic range.
Guest
I'm at 1500mg at a 1.0 level. The level matters more than the dosage.

rowan77
I take 800mg and ny blood level is usually around the 0.8mmol/l mark. As others have already said it is the blood level that matters, not the dose. I know someone who only has to take 400mg to get 0.8mmol/l and a young guy who has to take 1200mg to get the same blood level. Everyone is different in the way their body handles medications
notfred
As said, the dosage you take has less to do with effectiveness but your Lithium level directly correlates to effective treatment. This avoids toxicity and your lithium level is the best indicator that you are in the therapeutic range. For Lithium the therapeutic range (the lowest to highest dose that will effectively treat a condition) is very narrow. People seem to get good results at a .8 to 1 Lithium level. A few lower or higher. So get that test.

crtclms
I'm on 450mg with a .5 blood level, which has had a huge beneficial effect, but I might like to go up 150mg, I felt effects start about a week into it.
