Annabegins
I just started taking cymbalta for anxiety, i also take kolonopin. Ive switchd from lexapro to cymbalta a month ago, so ive been on cymbalta for a month, and my left eye is twitching, like underneith the eye its a muscle spasm. I feel like im tired all the time, im not really feeling all "motivated and more up" like im spose to. I have a problem, where ill feel so down and tired ill just want to do nothing. and have absolutely no motivation. im feeling nausus from the medicine, and im thinking it might be that im not taking it in the morning every morning? is there a big difference in the time that you take it? and the eye twitching thing, am i just under alot of stress? or is that a side effect? Haven't heard of Cymbalta being used as an anti-anxiety treatment, but I dunno. I take if for Major, wannakillmyself, depression. So far I'm underwhelmed. I had a nice first few weeks. But I tanked about 2 weeks ago into dysthimic (sp) type depression and have not BUDGED. I saw pdoc today, told him about ya'll and how you guys say give it the full 8 weeks or so. He's just like, "duh." I don't know about that dude sometimes. But switching is terrifying. Anyway, don't know about the eye twitching, but if your having anxiety problems that could explain it. How much Klonipin are you taking. What's your dx? Hang in there! Suze
Bianca
Cymbalta is used at higher doses for anxiety. The more serotonin you get the better your anxiety gets. I've been on Cymbalta for 2 months now and I was bumped up to 90mg a month ago. How long have you had the eye twitching? I would say that it would probably go away. What mg are you taking? Velvet Elvis
You really need to give it a couple months at your target dose, be it 60 or 90 to know for sure if it's going to work. It had some of the worst start up side effects of all the meds I've been on, but the do fade fairly quickly.

I'm really disappointed in this backslide I'm in. I started taking 60 about 5 weeks ago, and about three weeks ago, my mood went into the shitter totally. Blah! I'm not suicidal, and that is a blessing, however, I'm having the "is this all I'm gonna get out of this" blues. I talked to pdoc about it yesterday. He seems clueless. I swear he gets his info from me. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't had that initial lift for the first couple weeks... Sigh.
kthreekids
I too started this med 30 mg for anxiety...with a "side" of depression. I would def. say though it was 99% anxiety and 1% depression.... I feel ok...not wonderful happy...but better. My anxiety is nothing like it was but I am def. not as happy as when I was on lexapro.... Did you taper off lexapro and onto cymbalta or did you straight onto it.. I am by far an expert but maybe the cymbalta at the dose you are at has less seratonin than the lexapro you were taking therefor you may even have some with drawl symptoms...am I making sense? I would def. give it time...and talk to a dr. Kelley
Bianca
Hey Kelley u you still haven't up to 60mg? The 90 is what stopped the anxiety for me. I think I first had anxiety which led to depression

A backslide in the first couple months is pretty normal based on what people have reported around here. Just stick with it. It's hell to come off, so give it every chance you can. Annabegins
well, i took lexapro With 60 mg of cymbalta for about 5 days, then dropped the lexapro. I take 2 .5 mgs of kolonopin during the day, and one .5 at night. sometimes,, i'll just take it when i feel anxious, and if im doing allright, i wont take it. so its more "as needed". its been almost exactly a month that ive been taking cymbalta. im pretty much just anxious, not really depressed, i get overwhelmed and that can put me in a almost depressed state, but more like "how the hell am i suppose to live my life, its so messed up." but not like i want to kill myself,, but more like i am so far behind in life, and i feel like i can never catch up and i cant stop worrying about getting a job, doing this, doing that,, everything. im just overwelmed and anxious all the time.and its a bit of social anxiety too, cus i need kolonopin to be able to go out and talk to ppl. it really helps. other wise, i feel like im in a dream or something. everythings all blurry and i feel so akward and i dont want to run into anyone or use eye contact. do you think that im on the wrong med? cus the lady isnt a pdoc, she is like a nurse-type, and ive experienced ppl wanting to just try something new to see what will happen like we are guinee pigs and report how we reacted so they know if thats what they should prescribe later to another patient.
