Does America deserve to be free anymore?

Recommended Posts

The Constitutional Republic has been given up on long ago, tons of laws and executive orders go against it. People that run for important office are all preselected by elite groups like the CFR. People have given up many of their rights in the name of the war on terror, have let the companies, banks and elite interests take over the media and most everything...and they don't seem to know or care much about it all! People think their vote still matters or are too busy playing their x-box, watching porn, tv programming, youtube, seduced by smartphones, giving up all their personal information on facebook, letting google spy and track their online activity for marketing and other purposes, the list goes on and on...

If people are so dumb that they are not able to see what is really going with US (and the rest of the world similarly for that matter), do they really deserve to be free any longer?

I don't particularly welcome our new overlords but I'm not going to stand in between them and the rest of the idiot population. I say if the people allow themselves to be subverted into slavery then they don't deserve freedom. And I'll make do what best I can to insulate myself away from the rest of the fools and preserve what freedom I can for myself.

Here we go, Bush like behavior from Obama (showing we have nothing but a two party dictatorship), broad new powers for multinational corps TO IGNORE UNITED STATES LAW, but everyone's too caught up with surface level issues like gay marriage... to notice. Another reason why American's don't deserve freedom anymore.

This will affect FOOD SAFETY, safety from toxic products, everything, we'll be powerless to regulate Chinese and other foreign corps doing what they will here. And then many "American" corps are actually "international" anyway, they can just change their mailbox to the country with the most favorable laws and usurp United States Law.

You say that people readily give up some rights, and for this they don't deserve any. In other words you hate everyone for various reasons and as such they should all lose... freedom? You've been bad, crossed my moral code and pissed on my expectations so I'm taking your rights, that's right, you are officially one of the most oppressed countries in the world.

Fuck that, I'm gonna go watch porn on my seductive smartphone while I still can.

I think you desperately need to stop reading the huffington post.

It's easy to get upset with government. People seem more upset that there are leaks (which is a huge problem) than what the leaks are about-kill lists, international trade rules. But, your vote does matter. It may seem like the lesser of 2 evils, but don't you want the one you prefer? If you don't like the system maybe get involved and try to change things for the better. I'm not pleased with some things, but I also am grateful for the freedoms I do have.

Oh, he's not reading HuffPo....that's mostly fluff pieces these days. He'd be all up in arms about Lindsay Lohan playing Liz Taylor were he a HuffPo reader.

No, he's been listening to/reading some conspiracy theory sites. They are awesome entertainment. History channel did a great little show (available on Netflix streaming) about the secret societies he's talking about. I totally want a T-shirt that says "Ich bin eine Bilderberger!" now, just to fuck with people like him. heh.

I love this country, I love my freedoms (please stay out of my uterus, kthxbai), I love that I can vote and be involved and make an impact.

You're missing the point entirely. All people everywhere deserve to be free. It's a matter of the innate dignity of the human being, in which we believe here at Crazyboards- you can tell by the amount of time and energy we invest in keeping each other alive and well.

The energy you're devoting to being self-righteous and sulky might be channeled much more constructively into trying to change what you don't like about the way this country is going.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the laws/rights don't quite work that way. Usually what affects one person, affects us all. Therefore, if we lose certain freedoms, we ALL lose them--you don't get to keep yours just because you're "insulating" yourself/paying more attention to the world. I would agree with the above poster, if this is a serious concern of yours, there are plenty of ways to be an active participant in our country. In fact, the more you participate (instead of just reading HuffPo), the more you might realize that there are lots and lots of active groups out there who are concerned about issues and who ARE trying to move for change.

Freedom is not entitled. Most people want it but we have no right to it. If people can't understand to protect it then they don't deserve it IMO. Freedom is not a god given right otherwise we would have been free all along (there are no god given rights). At this point I don't care about humanity. Why would I want to care about something that is not working, headed for disaster and beyond fixable?

Our Humanity is just a made up story and club anyway. In the USA humanity means one thing in other countries it has a different definition. True Freedom is 360 degrees from how we are now living.

9/11 was a staged event in part to remove some of our important rights here in the US. There will be more of these "events" over time and the enslavement of humanity will eventually come full circle. It's been planned for a long time and overall it has been very successful, people are just too dumb to see it. There's no way to stop it save for people waking up in mass and that's not likely to ever happen. Conspiracy was built into the system from the beginning, the fractional reserve banking system in particular. I do feel sorry for you guys that are caught up in the mass delusion but I can only care so much. When you get down to it we're all here on our own.

I think you may be the one caught up in a delusion if you believe those conspiracy theories. This is crazyboards and I know I've believed some things that I don't think are true now.

I don't happen to believe it's everyone for themselves but that's just a difference of opinion.

Nope, you're still not getting it. Jenny Holzer said "Freedom is a luxury, not a necessity," and she's right: people can certainly live out their entire lives without ever tasting freedom. But that doesn't mean that they don't deserve the right of self-determination.

Further, human rights aren't a matter of any deity's creation, and while every culture has relative views of what is acceptable interpersonal behavior and what is not, I think that it is simply an inalienable right of all persons, based upon nothing more than their personhood, to pursue their dreams and satisfy their needs without falling prey to the control of people who are for whatever reason more powerful than they are. Being left alone to get on with it is a good enough definition of freedom.

People who view other people as tools, as instruments for the gratification of their own whims, or as beings with feelings less substantial and significant than their own are evil, in my opinion. And the correct response to evil is to fight it, not to wash your hands of the matter or to decide that people who don't share your world view deserve what they get.

I used to fight it but people are too far gone into the delusion and you just get responses like people are giving me in this thread, they protect the so called "evil" because they've been bamboozled by it.

You can't force someone to accept what's real, they have to be responsible for themselves and come to their own conclusions. Otherwise it's like fighting with a brick wall. The whole fighting for the greater number concept is collectivism anyway which I choose not to adhere to. Individualism is the principle this country was really founded on but the principle has been lost upon the people mostly.

I don't agree with people being used as tools either but the truth is it's simply gone too far at this point to stop. There's too many dumb people and the people that run this world (mostly from behind the scenes) are brilliant sociopaths/psychopaths. I hate to compliment them but they've done a heck of a job subverting humanity.

The flip side of the original question is "Do the American People Deserve to be Enslaved?"

Puhlease. Get a grip on yourself, and stop reading the HuffPost.

This country still has more freedom and opportunity and success than most. It has been pointed out that even many of the poor in the US live in bigger homes, have more appliances and overall more material goods than many middle class in Europe.

Even Canada doesn't have true free speech. You can be heavily fined by non-judicial tribunals for making "insulting" remarks and have no right to a trial based on legal standards or appeals.

Take my lead: Throw away your TV. Don't read inflammatory crap on the internet. Use your additional free time to listen to good music, read good books and not let the anger merchants destroy your peace of mind. best, a.m.

There is a reason people are willing to risk death to come here.

Risk death walking across the desert with their children.

Risk death floatomg in a rickety boat across the high seas from Cuba.

Allow themselves to be sealed into freight containers to come from China.

America has immense problems but also immense beauty and opportunity.

Our biggest failure now is the healthcare / insurance system. What a mess.

But we all have freedom of speech Crazy Pants. And the Occupy protestors exercized

their free speech and rights to protest for a long, long time.

And furthermore....have you EVER worked on a campain?

Walked a neighborhood precinct talking about your candidate?

Attended district meetings where candidates come and talk and answer questions.

Not just political candidate but also judges. It is very interesting.

I have been a Precinct PCO and my husband worked for the Grass Roots Campaign.

I think people should get involved and learn a little before they become cynical.

I have spoke with my local state senators and representative about the issues that concern me.

That means she took the time to meet me at Starbucks and talk for 30 mins.

Get involved before you criticize.

Are you registered to vote?

Have you ever registered anyone else to vote?

Have you ever given anyone else a ride to the polls?

Have you ever canvassed for a political candidate?

Have you ever donated to a political campaign?

Have you ever run for office yourself?

Have you ever volunteered for a political campaign?

Have you ever done any community organization work?

Have you ever attended any kind of activist training sessions?

If not, why are you complaining?

None of that makes any difference.

From the OP: "People that run for important office are all preselected by elite groups like the CFR" - look it up.

These same groups through their network also own and control the media. Ron Paul is a good example of somebody with some potential and support that gets snubbed by the media and ignored.

Ross Perot was somebody that tried to come along from outside the system and his family and life was threated. JFK was someone the elite didn't want in there so he was taken out.

I don't even know why I'm bothering here, a lot of you guys seem pretty far gone.

The winners are pre-selected or the candidates?

The candidates, though I think it's pretty obvious Bush was pre-selected the winner in 2000 and 2004. Kerry in particular was a bogus candidate.

Where is actual, concrete proof of all these assertions?

Also - answering that <x> keeps proof hidden is not an acceptable answer.

There's good information, bad information and good and bad mixed together designed to mislead you. I can recommend some good starting places though you have to use your own discernment and be rather driven and intelligent to find the truth (if you so seek it).

Off the top of my head...

Vids:

The money masters is a good documentary about how the bankers have run the show for generations. Stuff you'll never see in history books.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-515319560256183936#

Aaron Russo has good stuff out there

Chris Martenson Crash Course is good

Loose Change is a decent 911 doc

Jesse Ventura has some good stuff out there.

William Cooper in his later years

Books:

Creature from jekyll island - G Edward Griffin

Crossing the Rubicon - Michael Ruppert

Good mixed with bad information:

David Icke

Alex Jones

Michael Tsarian

Lots of new age conspiracy stuff

Agreed CrankyMe.

Generally when all the crazy people tell you you're crazy it's time to consider their expert advice.

Dude, you really are a nutjob.

I have to agree.

I've had different thoughts, but that a small group of people were in control. I could find websites that re-inforced my thoughts. It's hard for me to believe, but it isn't real. I think you are going to get frustrated trying to get people to agree with you.

Not to offend anyone who is religious, but people who believe in this stuff....it's like a religion to them. They fully believe it, whether or not there is concrete evidence supporting their beliefs. Some people believe there is a God controlling the world and their destiny...others believe it is backroom politicians doing the same. You'll never convince either otherwise.

I'm just wondering if it's a symptom since we are on CrazyBoards. Reality testing was one thing that helped me, along with meds and time. Also, when I started talking about my beliefs they became less powerful. I think you are right about not being able to convince him any differently. I just got frustrated with people who didn't agree with me (they were in on it or clueless).

It's entirely possible it is a symptom, although I have a strong suspicion that he isn't currently in treatment nor does he have any interest in it. My (could be completely wrong) guess is that he thought perhaps crazy people would be more likely to harken to his call, and that's why he's here. Not because he's seeking or offering support. This is the ONLY thread he's participated in.

Heh. I pretty much stay away from the doom and gloom type thinking. I really don't need to feed the crazy, plus at some point I decided there is no point dwelling on it, true or not, because hey, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I'm not going to waste my life on negative conspiracy shit. It's not productive or healthy and I have kids to think about. They don't need to grow up like me.

Well, if he's that crazy, he belongs here. I wonder if he understands that severe paranoia is one facet of mental illness?

Anyone who cites Jesse Ventura as a serious informaiton source is definitely mentally ill.

I agree with the OP in that, by and large, we have a one party system with a slightly more liberal wing (more accurately, centrist) and a waaaaaaay out there conservative wing. Essentially, when boiled to its essence, neither wing represents you and I, they’re simply there to serve their corporate underwriters. I’m oversimplifying of course, but it’s true. The health care bill that was passed is so chock full of concessions to the medical and insurance industries that it’s virtually useless.

I’m not a conspiracy theorists by any means, so, I do not believe a “secret” group of elites are running the show – it’s just that politicians and Washington in general have become more and more beholden to corporate interests – to such a degree that you and I no longer matter (not that we’ve ever mattered all that much) – every four years we get to choose which wing of the party will hold influence – but nothing really changes. Christ, fuel efficiency in automobiles hasn’t improved all that much in the forty years since Carter, why? Because the auto industry dominates the table at which these decisions are made – you and I are an afterthought – only insofar we effect their bottom line – to use but one example. Again, a gross over-simplification perhaps, but in essence, true.

Or, as Matt Taibbi (sort of) famously said:

The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it's everywhere. The world's most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. In fact, the history of the recent financial crisis, which doubles as a history of the rapid decline and fall of the suddenly swindled dry American empire, reads like a Who's Who of Goldman Sachs graduates.
